Praktica Fx

PICT0001
Freedom Tower (WTC) where it once stand the World Trade Center
This is my first try out of this vintage Praktica 35mm camera. Since I bought it from a garage sale I had to learn how to use it. Unfortunately I had to replace the original lenses because it had some mold in it. Although it may look like it is snowing in the pictures that is actually a defect in the lenses that I used. An imperfection that makes it look perfect!!!

Film: Fuji Pro 400H
Lens: Tiger Coligon 135mm 1:2.8
Camera: Praktica FX made in Germany

How to use your Polaroid Land camera - Model 450 or 440

Polaroid Land Camera 440
A - Folding view/rangefinder (this part will fold, feature not available in older models)
B - Shutter release
C - Flash range indicator
D - Rangefinder pushbutton (this is how you will zoom in and out)
E -Flash connector
F - White tab slot (this is where you will pull out the tab of your Fuji FP film)
G - Yellow tab slot door (this was named because the old film probably had yellow tab)
H - 3 element lens 144mm f/8.8
I - Lighten/Darken control (if you want you pictures to lighten, move the button towards lighten)
J - Shutter cocking lever
K - Lighting selector (this is also a new feature, you can change that by using knob on "O")
L - Electric eye
M - Flash gun socket (you may use a hot shoe adapter PC sync cord male for your modern flash)
N - Film speed dial
O - Lighting selector knob
P - Battery compartment (You will need a modern 3V battery attached to the end of the + and - wires)
Q -Steel rollers (keep them clean, I clean mines with a Qtip and some 91% isopropryl alcohol)
R - Focus window
S - View window
T - Back door latch (open the back door and place your Fuji FP film there)
U - Timer ( this is just a timer, it will not activate the shutter, it is just for development purposes)
V - Battery for electric eye and shutter control (you will hear a double click if you battery is working when you take a picture, check the placement before you load your movie. To make my camera work, I cut the old battery attachments and peeled off some of the plastic cover on the wires, leaving it exposed. Then I attached to a modern 3V battery, and taped it to secure with some first aide tape since it is much thicker and sticks better than regular tape, you may try anything...)
W - Serial number

You may use Fuji Film FP 100 unless you can find on Ebay Polaroid Type 107 (black & white), Type 105 Positive/Negative black and white film and Type 108 color film.
